Gabrielle Aplin, aged just 20, is from Wiltshire in the UK. Her talent for singing was soon recognised after posting covers on her Youtube account as well as a couple of her own original compositions, and in July 2012, she released her first EP which reached the top 25 in the UK charts as well as being featured in the background of 'Made in Chelsea'.
Then, in April 2011, BBC Introducing got hold of her and at the Maida Vale studios, she sang a couple of tracks from her second EP as well as covering 'Fix you' by Coldplay (Link). Her third EP 'Home', was released in January 2012 and the single 'Home' was a featured track in the itunes store and was promptly then being played to the world by BBC radio 1.
Gabrielle is looking forward to releasing her first album next year after getting signed by Parlophone and her first 'major' single 'Please don't say you love me' was a hit in the UK, regularly being played by radio 1. The newest single 'The Power Of Love' is her most successful single yet due to major advertising by it being featured in the 2012 John Lewis Christmas advert, which hit #5 on the UK charts and is being played all across UK radio stations, however with the release of the new album she is expecting to branch out to more of Europe and possible America, so be patient she's really worth it!
My opinion on Gabrielle Aplin is that she is extremely talented and I regret not seeing her at the Deaf Institute in Manchester so much, even more so as Lewis Watson was one of her support acts. Her voice is angelic, she is extremely pretty and her lyrics are very sentimental yet she makes everything seem as if it's okay.
