The Lumineers (Ho Hey)

American band 'The Lumineers' have invaded the UK soundwaves by storm as their extremely catchy single 'Ho Hey' which reached #8 in the UK charts and #7 in US charts. If you're in the UK you might have heard this extremely catchy song on the 'Silver Linings Playbook' advert or perhaps one of the Microsoft adverts. In the US it reached the 'Platinum' status by selling over 1 million singles.

The Lumineers started 'officially' in 2011 when they released their first self-recorded EP and booked some tour dates of their own to spread their 'heart-swelling stomp-and-clap acoustic rock' sound to further places in the US, where people became in love with the extremely catchy 'ho hey' and 'stubborn love'.

They are described as having a 'rustic, heart-on-sleeve music' (according to their bio anyway)and so in April 2012 they released their debut album which was self titled. After attracting much attention from their 'timeless' music they spread further and further in America, before recently becoming a big hit in the UK, as well as Canada.

The Lumineers plan to tour the UK, Europe and even Asia and Australia next year, most of which the venues are already sold out. I would have loved to see this band live as I would have imagined the atmosphere to feel brilliant and electric, with everyone in the room swaying and singing along with the songs that they knew and learning new songs which they didn't know.

I expect The Lumineers to grow much more as they release more of their music and do more tour dates around the world, but for now I will have to sit at home loathing everyone seeing them live while they are at my local venue.
